Silver
Piston
Since 2014 I’ve been making my jewelry by hand in downtown Atlanta. My jewelry strikes an Americana vibe with the Buffalo nickel rings that adorn a lot of my work. I also use hand engraved Hobo nickels that are all carved by “Hobo” Shane Hunter in Toledo, Ohio. I’ve been a full-time artist since 2015, when I started making jewelry. I’ve expanded to photography and still an occasional graphic designer. I’ve got my BFA in graphic design from UT Chattanooga.
Atlanta
Made
I started Silver Piston making jewelry by hand and nothing’s changed. I still cut out my coins one at a time. Each ring starts from a flat piece of metal when it cut to size then made into a ring that’ll be pretty kick ass. I also make some other accessories that’s all done one at a time. Finally, I’m still in downtown Atlanta.

I started off as graphic designer after getting my BFA in design in 1996, four years after I got out of the navy. These days I’m what some would call a multi-disiplinary artist because I’m also making some of my living doing portrait photography and on occasion, I’ll take on a design project here and there especially if there’s nice typography opps. You can check out my photography here SteveWestPhoto.com and on my Instgram.
